This is the legal minimum — most collective agreements and employment contracts grant 25–30 days. The collective agreement (TVG Q040) for your industry may set higher entitlements. According to Destatis, the average actual leave entitlement in Germany is 28–30 days. When changing jobs: leave entitlement accrues monthly (1/12 per month in the first half-year), full entitlement after 6 months of service. If the offer is below 25 days: negotiating room is real — additional leave days cost the employer little and have high value for you.
